Christmas Fare – Pop-Ups and Such – 5 Gold Offe-rings
Welcome to an edition of “5 Of” that brings you more festive cheer than you can shake a sprig of holly at and enough mistletoe and wine to keep any Chrimbo fan happy.
I have showcased some seasonal offerings that give a flavour of Christmas.
A cheeky little snug pop-up in Camden within the York and Albany in the form of a Gingerbread cabin. Could not be more Christmassy if it tried to be. Food and Cocktails all in keeping with the flavour of a winter pop-up. Delightful.
The Lodge Clapham is brought to you by Jimmy’s Popup. For the last few years Jimmy Garcia and his team have been taking over exciting spaces throughout Europe to create unique dining experiences, private parties and weddings. The Lodge is an alpine-style, mulled cider-filled ski chalet that offers much more than just fondue. Cocktails include Baked Alaska Buttered Rum and Jamaican Hot Toddies. Exceptional.
Thinking of somewhere secluded to take a special person? Tick in box. In love with Narnia? Tick in box. Want to experience all these and have the opportunity to eat beautifully creative food and drink? Tick, tick boom! A lovely change of pace from the hustle and bustle of the West End you could be forgiven for believing that you were in an English Garden were you to glance around, sample the cuisine or indulge in an alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage. Please treat yourself.
Big Apple Brixton is a purpose built rooftop venue with 1970s New York City style immersive production open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from now until 1st January. It is fully covered and heated offering the best in street food, cocktails, private rooms for hire and DJ’s and performers. As we all know by now, Brixton is the new Shoreditch so for those who like a bit of gentrification with their drinks, this is one for you.
Tucked away between London and Tower Bridge these 8 “Igloos” installed on the terrace of Coppa Club could be perfect for your festive needs. Reservations are hard to come by but there are some igloos kept back every day for walk-ins on a first-come, first-served basis. Get there early to avoid disappointment.
