5 Of – Seasonal Goodwill and Seasonal Dishes

This week’s edition of “5 Of” brings a selection of the capital’s restaurants that look to use seasonal and/or local produce in their dishes.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

Typing Room – http://www.typingroom.com/https://twitter.com/TypingRoom

Local and seasonal British ingredients used in an innovative and exciting way. This restaurant has opened to critical acclaim and is continuing to impress. Inventive and balanced but without pretention. A Michelin Star seems destined.

The Dairy – http://the-dairy.co.uk/https://twitter.com/thedairyclapham – Clapham

When we talk of local and seasonal we really couldn’t get ingredients any more local (grown in the roof garden) or seasonal (picked today). Unbelievable value for money for what amounts to a local restaurant without the glamour and glitz of the West End expectations. Clever, well put together dishes are complimented by a grown-up wine list and the kind of service that you would expect in a high end, tried and tested eaterie.

Lima – http://www.limalondongroup.com/fitzrovia – Fitzrovia

Peruvian delights at Lima with this Michelin Star awarded restaurant leading the pack with the Chinese/Peruvian fusion cuisine. A real taste sensation and the contemporary dishes offer exciting new flavours to the inquisitive London natives.

Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester – http://www.alainducasse-dorchester.com/

Anything that has the Ducasse name immediately brings visions of modern classic food and impeccable service as well as an air of superiority. The restaurant serves contemporary French cuisine using seasonal French and British ingredients and is only the fourth UK-based three-Michelin star restaurant.

Mac and Wild – http://www.macandwild.com/https://twitter.com/macandwild

A real-time advert for Scottish produce, specifically wild game, seafood and whisky, what could possibly keep you away. Born from a gamble on selling Venison first at Borough Market that developed into a pop-up that then progressed into a permanent site. The Venison burger is all you need to convert to this gamey alternative to your previous favourite beefburger.
