5 Of – Local Heroes

5 Of – Local Heroes

It’s not always about the West End, City or Central London when it comes to exciting food. There are wonderful restaurants right on your doorstep if you know where to look.

Here are a selection of those I consider to be local heroes for producing dishes that delight, all within a stones throw of the South London/North Kent border.

Cabrera Leehttp://www.cabreralondon.co.uk/about-us/

Steak, well done is one thing but well done steak is another. At Cabrera steak is done very well. This Lee based steak restaurant is making waves with its South American influenced

Rox Burger Lewisham http://www.roxburger.com/

Your new favourite burger joint. Simple flavour combinations done well with the mantra that the patty is the basis of the burger (sounds like common sense but this isn’t always the case) that the rest is built upon. Ain’t no patty, like a Rox Burger patty. Sorry about that.

Havet Bromley https://havetrestaurant.com/bromley-kent/

Turkish cuisine has had a huge uplift in popularity in recent years and the emergence of high-end eateries like Sheesh have brought new diners. Havet takes all of the basics of the cuisine and does them extremely well. Offering real value for money, the standard lamb shish, rice and salad is simple yet spectacular.

Thaidine Chislehursthttp://www.thaidine.co.uk/

Absolute hidden gem. Authentic Thai cuisine priced reasonably and packing a punch. Exceptional flavours done fantastically well.

Dennys Chislehurst http://www.dennysseafoodrestaurant.co.uk/

Popular and renowned seafood restaurant with a tiny footprint but a huge reputation. This restaurant is nestled in crook of the Chislehurst railway station and has been delighting the crowds with wonderful fish dishes for many years. One for a special occasion.
